Chelation Therapy has primarily been used in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease and to clear heavy metals from the body.
Heavy metals and nutritional minerals in excessive quantities can interfere with normal body function. Chelation Therapy is conducted intravenously. Excessive minerals and metals are flushed out of the body by cleansing blood vessels, organs and improving metabolic and circulatory functions. It is considered a safe alternative treatment for atherosclerotic vascular disease.
The Chelation Therapy Treament Process
Treatments are followed by an initial patient visit. To assess if this therapy is appropriate for the patient, patients must maintain adequate caloric intake prior, during and after treatment. Intravenous treatments are one and a half to three hours in length. Up to twenty or thirty treatments may be necessary. They are scheduled at one to two treatments per week. Continual blood tests are completed during the course of this treatment to ensure patient safety. The patient returns for several follow up treatments to ensure that they have responded well and symptoms do not return.
